Thank you from the Purpose Society

FROM THE PURPOSE SOCIETY

COVID 19 CAME AND IS STILL NOT GONE.  WE HAVE MOVED INTO A NEW PHASE AND MOST PEOPLE ARE ENJOYING A LOOSENING OF THE RESTRICTIONS.

IT IS TIME TO THANK THOSE PEOPLE WHO HELPED THE PURPOSE SOCIETY OVERCOME PHASE 1 OF COVID 19.

THIS IS A SUPER-SIZE THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO HAVE HELPED AND DONATED TO PURPOSE OVER THE PAST MONTHS.

Since the first week in March, the staff of the Purpose Society have felt and reacted to the impact of Covid-19 on the community.  With many people staying at home, Purpose staff worked to provide child care services to front line and health care workers who needed a safe place to leave their children.

All of our programs continued, albeit in modified circumstances, because staff were committed to being available to people who needed support.

The Purpose Health Van delivered food, water, information, harm reduction supplies, clothes, information and referrals to those folks who needed help.

For all of this, WE THANK THE PURPOSE EMPLOYEES.

During the past months, many people have been laid off or lost their jobs due to the quarantine requirements or businesses closing.  They have reached out to us for food and other assistance.

Currently, the Purpose Society delivers over 100 food hampers a week to individuals and families and the biggest family has 11 members.  The hampers contain non-perishable items, cheese, yoghurt and fresh produce.  Dietary restrictions are noted and followed.

The following individuals and companies have made this Food Hamper program possible.

The sandwiches, bananas and water were provided by the City of New Westminster.
