New Westminster YOUth Hub

Welcome to the New West Youth Hub, a vibrant and inclusive community space dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 12-24. The hub is designed to provide a supportive environment where youth can access a range of essential resources, opportunities, and services that promote personal growth, skill development, and overall well-being.

The New Westminster Youth Hub is funded through the Building Safer Communities Program, an initiative by Public Safety Canada. It operates in collaboration with the City of New Westminster and is dedicated to providing support for youth who are either street-entrenched or engaged in/vulnerable to gun and gang violence within the community. Our primary goal is to these young individuals towards making positive life choices and exploring alternative paths.

Who We Are:

The New West Youth Hub is a project of the Lower Mainland Purpose Society, an organization deeply rooted in the Burnaby and New Westminster communities since 1983. Our history of commitment to youth empowerment led to the creation of this hub as a dedicated space where youth can explore, learn, and thrive.

What We Offer:

Safe Space: A secure and welcoming environment for daily drop-in activities, study sessions, and engaging interactions with peers and mentors.

Resource Accessibility: We provide access to vital resources including computer facilities, study support, life skills training, employment guidance, cultural programming, music, art therapy, and counseling services.

Special Events: Throughout the year, we host various special events that celebrate the rich diversity of our youth, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.

Community Engagement: Our programs encourage personal development, community involvement, and cultural awareness, empowering youth to make a positive impact on society.

Resource Connections: We offer connections to resources for mental health, harm reduction, sexual/physical health, employment training, safe shelter, food access, and more.

Mission:

At the New West Youth Hub, our mission is to provide low-barrier access to essential resources, nurturing a space where young individuals can discover their strengths, build skills, and create meaningful connections within a supportive community.

Our vision is to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of young people, equipping them with the tools and support they need to overcome challenges, pursue their aspirations, and become confident, capable contributors to society.
