What we do

As we unloaded a much needed food donation from the truck, a staff member noticed someone who was lying on the sidewalk effected by toxic drugs.  It was not clear whether she was breathing.

Two trained harm reduction professionals from our overdose prevention site came to the aid of this woman and saved her life.  Staff had seen this woman at the Purpose Society and they cared enough to remember her name.  As they administered naloxone, they called her name to help revive her.

Here at the Purpose Society, we don’t broadcast every life saved, every cup of hot coffee put into a cold hand, every youth given a positive experience at our youth centres, every family in crisis supported,  but today, for this moment, we celebrate every client served and the amazing Purpose staff who have supported them.

Because here, we work with a purpose – to do good, for all.
