This year the Purpose Society had to say a last goodbye and rest in peace to a lovely and caring couple who were long-time supporters of the agency. Patricia Crawford passed away in January and Gary Crawford in June of this year.
Patricia’s love of children was reflected in her long and successful teaching career. She always found ways to contribute to the agency in ways that helped many of our clients. Gary was a member of the Purpose Board of Directors for many years. He provided wise counsel and direction at Board meetings. However, as important, Gary was an anchor. He was the one that was always available whenever Purpose staff needed anything. Time after time, he went out of his way to drop into the agency to help staff. He attended every Purpose High School graduation ceremony during his time on the Board. He was the agency “cheerleader’ who told friends, family and acquaintances how much he admired and cared about Purpose. He regularly expressed his appreciation to staff for their work and commitment. Patricia and Gary are very missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 17th 2022 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Riverway Golf Course (9001 Bill Fox Way, Burnaby, BC V5J 5J3).
